Good morning! finally a much needed nice rain falling after nothing for almost a month. It also looks like we will see some effects from hurricane Isaias early next week!
Be safe...

Watching the live web cams on the Sturgis site and I am not seeing one person wearing a mask. With people coming from all over the USA, I sure would not want to gamble on going this year. Motels are still available for $450-$475 per night.

I agree with making the decision not to go...I'm not afraid of getting covid, I just don't want the ventilator to survive, or worse...2020 just doesn't seem like the best year to die. Everyone has the right be cautious...or not. We cancelled our reservations a few weeks ago.
Live to ride and enjoy the hills another year.
Be safe everyone that is headed out.

That is the thing I am afraid of,the ventilator to maybe give you life or take it from you. Of course for us Canadians it wasn`t a choice with the border closed.Next year maybe things will be better.

Another reason for not going to Sturgis this year is the 2020 shirts suck.

Good morning.

I don`t think Sturgis will get the crowds this year.. There should be lots of bikes there by now.

Yes, still early, the rally doesn't really start until Friday. Lastest rumors are of 250,000 people attending. I'm wondering if they're counting everything from August 1st on, to get that number.

A lot of hotels in Rapid are still available for $180-$220./night and I'm sure tent space is plentiful everywhere. The crowds are picking up. I'm raising my estimate to the 200,000 -250,000 range. :) With the lack of precautions folks seem to be taking I sure hope infected people don't show up. Motorcyclists are already a dwindling group, we don't need help reducing the numbers.

You watch on the web cams and people there with kids don`t have a mask on them.I know there is controversy over masks, but I would think people would want to protect the kids. Having said that, not sure why people take the kids to the rally.
