We had freezing rain overnight and the 2 cherry trees and the rose bush are all coated with ice.Haven`t checked the lilac bushes yet but I suspect they are covered in ice as well.

A blob formed today in the Gulf, moving northwest toward Texas. If it strengthens enough to get a name, it will be Ana or Bill (there's something forming in the Atlantic, too). Even if it doesn't get strong enough to be named, it's gonna dump even more rain on us.

Hurricane season appears to be ramping up a couple weeks early.

Well, it decided to just be an unnamed tropical wave. We'll be getting rained on off and on for the next several days. That's good, as we still need more water. The cat's not that happy; he hates being outside when he can't get off the porch.

We're using the rain as an excuse to hunker down and vegetate. Our Army buddies are coming over tomorrow, and we're serving the ultimate in comfort food: gourmet macaroni and cheese, with a whiskey keg aged cabernet sauvignon. They're bringing dessert and a really cheesy movie. Movies so bad they're hilarious is a tradition now...

We have had a lot of rain in the last couple of days and it is still raining today. The moisture is needed so no complaints from us about it. We still manage to get outside and putter around. Once the rain stops,we will get the rest of the garden planted.

I love comfort food and with this weather I seem to eat more of it  Gourmet mac and cheese sounds so good.

Today was helping our Army buddies prepare their Fifth Wheel for sale. After his stroke, there's no way they can RV anymore. It's parked at our place, so it's easy for us to walk over with the power washer and have at it.

That was the plan, anyway. WLToo had to do it by himself, as I had a serious bout of hypoglycemia dizziness. First time that's ever happened and it ain't particularly fun. Hopefully, all will straighten itself out by tomorrow. We got stuff to do...

Thanks, Lizzie. Felt fine later in the day. Learned that intense exercise can bring it on, and I had done my first pool workout since October the evening before. Took a couple days off, and will get back in the pool today -- assuming no more thunderstorms interfere. Will be paying close attention to my glucose level shortly after exercising, to ensure I don't have another bout again.

The turons are here en masse. One drowned first thing Saturday morning. Folks always believe a lake is a safe place, and with a major river running through it, that's just not true. He was caught in the current and couldn't get back up -- no life jacket. Then their traffic is seriously clogging up all the roads -- first three-day weekend since the great unmasking, and they all want to be out and about.

We'll keep to our property until they all leave...

Glad all is well with you WL

That is sad about the person who drowned, water can be downright scary if people aren`t careful. I almost drowned when I was around 15 and I sure learned to have respect for water and the power it has. We still have to wear masks up here but the restrictions are lifting and people are out in droves. Shopping malls, local parks, camp sites and the like are packed with people.I am quite content to be in our small town and putter in the yard.

Bush beans are producing. Picked a pound of them for Sunday dinner. Delicious. I hope we get enough to can this year.

 Funny the different climates in areas. We had maybe 1 or 2 days below 25 degrees this winter and haven't breached 88 yet this spring....

A front blew in today. Rained most of the day, and never got above 65 degrees. That is 20 degrees below normal.

Too wet to get into the garden and check on more beans. Maybe tomorrow.

I think we're getting webbed feet. Another flash flood warning, more rain inbound. Don't know whether to wear pants or shorts with this weather. Sheesh.

Our 4th day mid 90 degree temps and over 70% humidity without AC as our whole system gave up the ghost on Saturday. The house is somewhere in the low 90's. Sleeping is a challenge! I'm in the process of getting estimates to replace the system - about $12,000.00 I didn't need! . It's always something when you own a home! Thunderstorms predicted for the next 3 - 4 day with temps and humidity moderating! :D

Yes - 12 grand, the entire system has to be replaced! And if I want it done in the next two weeks I have to settle for a lesser quality unit than the one that took a shit! Like most everything these days there is a shortage of HVAC equipment nationwide. If I wanted to wait it could take up to 3 months to get an equivalent replacement!
