Had a hard freeze last night, but we're into the 50s today and will be back to normal tomorrow. Was sitting in my chair this morning, looking at the ice on the deck, when a fox strolled along the deck, then down the stairs. Good thing the cat was inside -- he doesn't like interlopers on his deck.

Wound up with a little over an inch of moisture, which we desperately needed. Doesn't lift the drought, but it did result in a lift on the burn ban, so yesterday and today have been pretty smoky, with folks burning deadfall, pruning, scrap wood, etc.

Generally, it's been a nice day.

And not only did we get rain but the winds picked up and it snowed. It was a blizzard out there.Sure glad to be retired and not have to worry about driving into the city to work.

Thanks to Covid...I've only driven to work about 10 days since March. Hoping I don't have to go back for the next 2-3 years...then I'll be in the same retirement boat as you, and decide when or not to drive.

How did you do for snow over there this last blizzard? I see a lot of eastern SD got only a few inches.
We had all the wind, for 2+ days, but no snow what so ever.

We got about 3" ...very wet. Not a lot of wind like SW MN got...or buddy in Box Elder had his gas grill end up in the neighbors yard...3 houses away.

Our nice weather is coming to an end as of Thursday. Polar Vortex is heading down from the North and we are getting very cold temps right up to the end of January. But of course that could change over the next few days

However if we do get the cold, our winter has been pretty good up to now and we can`t complain.I am looking forward to Spring and thoughts of gardening :D

Had a nice bit of rain early this morning and it's still in the 60s. Hopefully, we'll get some more rain.

The local NextDoor forum advertised a big outdoor dining table and eight swivel rocker chairs. We jumped right on it, and now we've got that big deck properly furnished. We can feed twelve people at both tables with lots of distancing space, not to mention the side tables, sofa, loveseat and other chairs. And there's still room to have a dance.

I love that deck.

We don`t have a deck but we have a large patio and we spend a lot of time out there. Well when the weather is decent of course.

High of 76 today. Gorgeous day to be sitting on the deck. Had to get my F-150 recall fixed (master cylinder), and we visited Harbor Freight to grab a few things, and that was that for visiting the county seat.

Druther stay here on our hillside, anyway.

How far are you from Kerrville? Might be making a ride in the Spring. Want to do the twisted sisters again.

We're 69 miles from Kerrville, about an hour and a half drive. If you want to come over this way, there's a very nice B&B about a half mile from us.
