The motorcycle traffic looks really light for only one week before the rally. Does the City still plan to close Main Street to motorcycles only? Are they installing all the four way stops on Lazelle Street?

Sounds like it... from the last I've heard anyway.

Normally the week before the official week of the Rally is just about as busy as the Rally. Which is why they extended it to 10 days. Busy first weekend/week, then a lull, then used to be a big weekend finale.

There are very few bikers coming thru town this week before the Rally, the fewest that have been here early in decades. If this follows the traditional preview of how busy the week of the Rally will be, the Rally attendance is going to be extremely low for 2020.

The past few years the Rally was over by Wednesday or Thursday. I'll be surprised if this isn't by far the smallest Rally since they started keeping records.

The City will put out the barricades probably Thursday night the 6th. Last year the City pulled the barricades a day early because so few bikers were here the last half of the week. One large group of bikers came to Main St. the final Sunday of the Rally last year and half of the block at Main St and Junction was bikes only and the rest of Main street was re-opened to all traffic.

Not looking like a very big rally this year, 8:00 AM on Monday and not a single bike on Main Street. Doesn't anyone stop at stop signs in Sturgis?

9am this morning went to Weimer's donuts on Main St and not a single bike on the streets of Sturgis between my place and Main Street. Saw a few trucks pulling toy haulers but that was about it other than normal traffic. A few more vendor tents but still way less than half of normal around town.

Weimer's Donuts, my favorite breakfast place in Sturgis. Are they crowded in the morning? Usually you have be standing in line 30 minutes before they open to get the first seating. I usually get to Sturgis on Wednesday before the start of the rally and Main Street will be packed by 9:00 AM. My first day on my first time to the rally I learned to reference where I parked to a main building on the street as I came back after a couple of hours and couldn't find my bike. There was about 10 bikes on Main Street when I parked and 500 when I came back. SturgisSoundguy I sent you a private message.

I did that at Rapid HD one year...try to find a black bike in a sea of bikes, mostly black. Backtracked to where we walked to the first vendor, and looked for the American flag on our mc trunk...Only 2 rows off where we started looking.
