HOT ROD INSTITUTE MOTORCYCLE CURRICULUM
I spent the best part of yesterday, November eighth, 2011 at Hot Rod Institute in Rapid City South Dakota. I love the smell of fresh bondo….don’t you? This is a school for wanna be Chopper and custom bike builders, a maybe even a future champion bike builder. The institute was founded by Doug LaRue primarily for Hot Rod students, but now has a plethora of custom motorcycle students. Expect to see some show winning custom motorcycle iron come out of here in the near future, if their custom car examples are any indicator. If that offspring of yours says he or she hates school, send him or her to the Hot Rod Institute website, and see if his or her interest isn’t piqued a little. Yes, there are several female students in attendance. Students can soak up as much information and training as they wish during a semester or two here by picking one or more of several various information packed programs to study. This is a hands-on place, like no other place…..it makes me want to go back to school. At any rate, check it out. Pictured is Keely Vitt with his “old” Evo style motor. It will be as good as new when he get through with it.
