BIG BEAR SHERIFF INVESTIGATING THE ALSOPS

Many potential Big Bear customer may gain some satisfaction from the fact that Big Bear Sheriffs station detectives are now investigating possible fraud and other charges against Kevin and Mona Alsop. As I reported first, and exclusively on this blog , I received a phone call on Thursday November 23, 2011 from an unidentified source who told me that Kevin was in fact working at a different location other than the Big Bear Choppers facility, yet was still taking deposits on “to be built” Big Bear motorcycles.

The Big Bear Choppers facility closed in November, ostensibly for the Thanksgiving Holiday. It has remained closed. After Kevin and Mona appeared on a TV broadcast of The Mentor, emails and phone calls began arriving in bulk. The calls and emails reported that the Alsop couple took large deposits or payments in full for motorcycles they allegedly did not intend to build. As it turns out Kevin and Mona have launched a new company called “Rage Choppers” in Riverside, California. Ironically, the Rage name was a model produced by Big Bear Choppers. “The Mentor” no longer plans to air the rerun of the Alsop based program.

Big Bear Sheriff’s detective Lonnie Siebert says the Big Bear Sheriffs department is in the process of determining what legal action, if any will be appropriate. Felony criminal charges are possible here.

Prosecutors of District Attorney’s office are aware of the potential fraud actions of Kevin and Mona Alsop, no investigation is ongoing at this time. Many of the depositors and potential fraud victims have contacted the District Attorney’s office says Chris Lee District Attorney. Mr. Lee asks that potential victims to file a report at the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station so that they will have the information needed to decide legal action.

Many of the potential victims include Armed Force personnel deployed in foreign countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and other discharged, wounded veterans, retirees, previous Big Bear motorcycle dealers, as well as retirees, Canadian, Russian and other U.S. citizens. If you read this blog you may have read the comment made by Jim Kreizinger of Indio California. He ordered a bike just days before Big Bear Choppers closed its doors in November. He was not advised that the company was going to close at the time he made a $10,000 deposit, this on Nov. 14, 2011. Jim requested his deposit back but was denied.

It just makes ya wonder if Kevin Alsop was targeting memberS of the military with the thought that they being in remote locations far from U.S. borders that they would not be able to seek action against Big Bear Choppers. If this their actions are exceptionally despicable. There are, of course many domestic customers that have filed complaints. You guys out there on the left coast please keep me informed as to the happenings in this case.

Thanks

Buck
