BACK IN THE SADDLE

Greg Kovacs was a very successful orthopedic surgeon before he was involved in a very serious motorcycle crash almost seven years ago while attending the annual Sturgis Motorcycle rally. The accident left him without the ability to ride a two wheeled machine. Greg has proven to be a extremely determined motorcycle rider. He has rehabilitated himself with extensive help of others and modern medical technology enough to get back in the riding game! This also involved having a special trike built for him!
Greg enlisted the services of Master Builder Chris Malo, a Spearfish custom motorcycle designer and builder to constructed a three wheeled machine with controls designed and located for a rider with limited limb movement. A single brake pedal activates proportionate braking on front and rear axles, with the transmission control level located down low on the right side of the motorcycle. A centrifugal clutch eliminates the need for a hand operated clutch lever. Greg is riding again albeit in a limited way. But he is out there riding and that’s what counts.
