MEN ONLY NIGHT NIGHT AT BLACK HILLS HARLEY-DAVIDSON
Long before I was a South Dakota resident I thought that there was only a large population of motorcycle riders in the Black Hills during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and races. Boy was I wrong. After relocating o the Black Hills I discovered that every time the weather even got close to warm enough to ride a motorcycle, the hills and canyons reverberate with the thunder of hundreds if not thousands of motorcycle riding bikers. The most predominant motorcycle brand seen is of course Harley-Davidson. No wonder really, seeing as the South Dakota Black Hills town of Sturgis annually hosts the largest, most fun, craziest motorcycle rally in the world. Don't even argue, there is no larger motorcycle get together anywhere, period. Black Hills Harley-Davidson, the local Harley-Davidson dealership( is becoming the place to hang out or a defiant stop on your ride for the day) They just finished up their "Garage Party" a women's only event then turned around and backed it up with a "Men Only" night at the dealership. These impromptu events are usually very well attended, no exception here, but the number of riders that showed up exceeded the anticipated beer and pig quota by a wide margin. A large pig had been roasted for this event, but the porker was just a wee bit smaller than the appetites in attendance. It was good though. No worry, the staff got the bar-b-que going, and broiled some burgers so nobody went hungry. Mister Terry Rymer, Black Hills HD General manager, and partner also demonstrated the South Dakota biker in him by doing a couple of very smoky burnouts on a late model Harley-Davidson Bagger. An eerie burnout it was, the bagger having the very quiet stock exhaust system. But the smoke cloud was humongous. Lots of smoke…no noise! Myself, I like to spend my money on beer not tires….OK..OK occasionally I do a little burnout here and there, but not of this magnitude. It was rather obvious that Terry enjoys doing burnouts….its a good thing he has employment at a dealership....huh! I wonder if he gets a senior discount on rubber donuts? Oh that's right, he's not a senior YET, is he? I am hoping this Thursday night Black Hills Harley-Davidson "Men's Night" is not the last…..I had fun and saw a lot of friends new and old.
