Its official. Jan 7 2019. At the CES, Harley introduced the LiveWire Electric Motorcycle. The bike is expected to be in showrooms in August. The Livewire has a price of $29,800 and a range of approx 110 miles before a recharge is needed. HD is now taking deposits.

Not sure about anyone else, but I find the price of a Livewire light years beyond insane. If this is HD's plan to appeal to millennials, ITS NOT WORKING.

Yeah, out of my price range too, but I'd sure love to demo one for a few days!
I don't care how it's powered as long as it doesn't stink like an old style diesel.

It's actually less expensive than a lot of Harley touring bikes and trikes. It looks to be designed for in city commuters.

I'm actually in Vegas at C.E.S. working audio/video production for one of the big 3 auto makers like I do every year. I'll try to get some pictures posted of the electric Harley.

Randy PM me your email in case I can' t post pics I'll email them to you to post.

*** Okay, I got on the C.E.S. Exhibitor Search computer in the Grand Lobby at C.E.S. and did a search for Harley and no search result??? I took pics of the computer screen search results, pretty boring but if you want to see it... The electric Harley was on a couple of local news stations today, one mentioned Samsung as battery maker and another mentioned another battery company being associated with the Harley electric motorcycle. I'll keep asking and see if I can find out where to get up close to the electric hog.

I found this:
https://electrek.co/2019/01/07/harley-d ... co5Fqp8ftY
I like being out in the woods in my open top jeep wrangler... putzing along at a crawl, quietly sneaking up on whatever might be ahead. I wonder how a quiet bike will feel. I like the idea of quiet back highways and not dealing with noise other than the wind, but I bet there is a fair amount of engine whine and road/tire noise still.

LOL I'd rather ride a bike.
Last I heard the rendering companies don't even want them. Sad for such cool creatures.

Okay, after asking a bunch of people where the electric Harley was I ended up talking to a couple of guys from Oklahoma heading out at beer-thirty yesterday evening about bikes and asked it they had seen the electric Harley and they said it was in the Panasonic booth. I went there early this morning (full access to everything at C.E.S. if you have an exhibitor badge) and checked out the bike and talked with a real nice guy from Harley named Sean Stanley. Very knowledgeable about the bike design, handling, etc. He says Harley is "considering" having the bikes available for demo rides at the Rally this year.

The bike is in the Panasonic booth because Panasonic worked with Harley on the "communication" aspect of the bike, you know, the part where the bike talks to your smart phone. If you're at C.E.S. that is where to find it, today is the last day of C.E.S.

As far as motorcycles go the bike looks pretty cool up close. My pics aren't any better than the ones in the articles if you've seen them except for my mug being there next to the bike!
