STURGIS MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM    Today is Sunday May 19, and it’s raining here in the Sturgis area, and all over the Black Hills. It is rain that’s sorely needed by farmers and ranchers so I won’t complain. It’s not raining inside the museum though, so if you’re in the area, drop in and get a close-up look at some of the rare and beautiful two wheelers, and antique motorcycle equipment that’s on hand. Plan to spend at least an hour….there is plenty to see inside. The Sturgis Motorc...

SEQUESTRATION CUTS ATF PRESENCE AT STURGIS RALLY ©2012 photo by Brett Lovell Large numbers of cops are needed each year at the Sturgis Rally to make sure the outlaw bikers that attend don't get out of hand. For 2013 there will be fewer federal agents available to keep an eye on things for the first time in 10 years. Budget cuts known as sequestration have stalled the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives attendance. In the recent past more than 20 ATF agents to patrole...

GIVE A SHOT GUYS...   By Icabod Yohansen   No….…the kids at the Childrens Care Hospital aren’t drinking whiskey, Buck Lovell is collecting shot glasses to be auctioned off at the annual Hamster dinner and charity auction. This annual event raises buckets of cash for Childrens Care Hospital, and hopefully this year’s event will not be the exception.  Buck is attempting to acquire 100 shot glasses by the dinner date but has only collected 20 so far. Get off your collective but...

THE GOOD OLD DAYS LOOKED LIKE THIS! Photos By ....................  www.hardtailmagazine.com     Harley-Davidson’s UL Flathead motorcycle was a very popular choice for customizing in the late 1950’s early 1960’s. The motor was easy to maintain and very reliable with proper maintenance. The Flathead motor had enough of torque and horsepower to push a lightweight rigid frame machine along at freeway speed of 65 MPH but suffered from a breathing problem. Modern overhead valve motors...

Progressive Suspension - 970 Series Piggyback Shocks for Baggers!  High performance suspension and massive touring machines are not often spoken of in the same sentence, yet Progressive Suspension seems to know these are the motorcycles that need it the most. Progressive has taken their top shelf 970 Series damper and engineered a remote reservoir to create what is likely the apex of Bagger suspension. They began with high pressure gas charged dampers, incorporated deflective disc...
